Libby's Leashes was begun as many other small businesses: out of necessity.
I have been sewing all of my life & a quilter for many years.
In May of 2004, I got my second Pomeranian, Libby. She was very tiny.
When she started her puppy class at 3 1/2 months she only weighed 17 ounces.
Even cat collars were too big!
I began making collars & matching leashes out of cute fabrics.
Friends asked me to make some for their little ones and a business was born!
I have always taken Libby everywhere with me - and I mean everywhere!
So my search began for a bag to carry her in. I tried bag after bag, but nothing worked.
They were too big, too heavy, too expensive....
I was beginning to feel like Goldilocks - nothing was "just right".
I wanted a bag that was soft and lightweight,
with pockets so I didn't have to carry an additional purse.
I wanted it to look like a purse - not a dog carrier.
I knew I would have to make it myself.
I went to a department store & tried her in every purse style they had!
When I found one that would work, I looked for a similar pattern and the modifications began.
Finally, a bag that was just right!!
Libby's Leashes specializes in products for tiny dogs, under 7 pounds.
Every item is tried and tested by Libby personally. Our products are not manufactured,
each is made in our home with great attention to detail.
I do not sell wholesale, I give that price to you instead.
My goal is for you to enjoy taking your little ones out as much as I do!
My husband Dave and I live in Southern California.
We have two grown sons, Brandon & Nick.
Libby shares my lap with her two sisters - Joey, another Pom, and Fiona, a Yorkie.
Besides being a spokesmodel, Libby is a registered Therapy Dog
and works every week in a reading program at our local library.
